Can you help me pick an adventure?

No problem. If you’re interested in adventuring but not sure what’s right for you then get in touch with us. We can help you custom build an adventure that suits your interest and ability level.

Am I experienced, fit or brave enough?

Yes you are. We tailor our tours for our clients, not the other way around. Everyone has an adventurer inside of them. Let us help you discover your inner explorer with a tour built for you. Get in touch with us so that we can better assess your comfort zone, physical condition, and level of outdoor experience. Together we can create a unique itinerary that suits your goals.

Do I have the right equipment?

Depending on what adventure you choose, certain equipment will be provided by Caucasus Nomad at no charge. For other required and recommended items, we will provide a required equipment list to our prospective clients prior to the start of any of our expeditions. This will allow you to gear up ahead of time. If there are certain items you are having trouble procuring in advance then let us know and we can assist in local purchase or rental before the start of your trip. We are happy to answer any questions you have about appropriate equipment.

Are the tours I see on your website the only ones you offer?

Absolutely not. Our motto is custom tailored tours to suit client needs. The tours listed on our site are only to give a reference point for what is offered and available. If you’re not seeing exactly what you want then let us know and we can make it happen.

How much does it cost?

Base price for private guiding services is $250 per day. This does not normally include other costs such as lodging, food/drink, and equipment rental/purchase, which are the responsibility of the client(s). Because we offer custom built tours, the pricing varies depending on a number of factors including, but not limited to: party size, activity, duration of trip, request for drone videography or action sports photography, accommodation costs, etc. Feel free to get in touch with us for a custom quote for a private tour. Alternatively, you can choose from one our or set tours where the price is established and published on our website.

Do you offer discounts?

We offer discounts to active military personnel and veterans, no matter which country you served in. As a USMC veteran himself, our founder extends this courtesy personally. Discounts for groups booking multiday tours are also available.

Do you arrange accommodation?

For single-day adventures we do not arrange accommodation but will pick you up and drop you off at your place of lodging. For multi-day adventures, we will arrange lodging for the group during the course of expedition as required. For those on multi-day adventures we can offer assistance in finding suitable accommodations for the period proceeding and following your expedition.

Are accommodation costs included in the tour price?

For single-day adventures, no. For multi-day expeditions, it depends on the itinerary. For some multi-day tours we will be sleeping only in tents so there are no accommodation costs involved. For multi-day tours where lodging is required, the costs of accommodation during the actual tour will be built into the tour costs. Costs for accommodation preceding and following the tour are not covered.

In what type of lodging will we stay?

This depends on the tour destination and wishes of the expedition members. We will sleep in tents when we are in the backcountry. In some remote villages the only option besides camping is staying with local families in their homes which are so-called “guesthouses.” Levels of comfort may vary but the atmosphere is genuine and unique. In more developed touristic areas, or in cities, there is a range of accommodation level from hostels to high-end hotels. As all of our tours are custom, the requests of our clients will dictate the level of accommodation that is arranged.

Do you arrange international travel to Georgia?

We do not arrange your travel into the Republic of Georgia. The major international airports are located in Tbilisi (TBS) and Kutaisi (KUT). Airfare for international travel costs are not included in any of our package prices. It is also possible to enter Georgia via land border crossings from neighboring countries if you plan to drive, bike, or walk here. Additionally there are ports on the Black Sea if you plan to take a ferry, boat, or swim.

Do I need a visa to travel to Georgia?

The answer to this question depends on your nationality. Georgia has a fairly liberal policy about allowing visa free travel for tourists. A good reference source is https://georgia.visahq.com/ to determine whether or not a visa is required for your trip. We do not offer assistance in procuring visas. Visa costs are not included in any tour price.

Do you arrange local travel within Georgia?

If you are on a guided trip with us, we will arrange for your transport within Georgia for the duration of your expedition. Transportation costs are already included in the tour fees.

Where is the startpoint for expeditions?

Basecamp for Caucasus Nomad is in the capital city, Tbilisi. This is the default start and end point for the majority of our tours. If you would like to start/end your tour from a different location within Georgia this can be arranged. The start/end point for ski activities in the Gudauri region is Gudauri by default.

Will you pick us up from the airport?

Airport pickups and dropoffs can be arranged for those booking multi-day expeditions with us.
